Reading, merging, and projecting mapping data is a daunting task that takes time

Views Maps helps you shorten schedules and reduce the cost
and risk associated with developing mapping applications.
Sunlight projection demonstration
This demonstration, developed in just a few days, shows how ILOG
Views 2D Graphics and the ILOG Views Maps add-on can be used to develop an
application that projects sunlight on the earth. The example illustrates
advanced features such as:
- Prebuilt controls for developing user interfaces
- Ability to read different types of image formats
- Various mapping projections for representing the earth
- Changing observation points
- Conversion of cursor position into latitude and longitude
- Fast panning and zooming capabilities
- Local zooming lens (press Ctrl and click the map)
- Multi-layer management (to show city names or a grid)

Downloading the demonstration
Please download the ZIP file for Window 95/98/NT/2000.
Please download the ZIP file for Window XP
No additional files will be downloaded to your hard disk.
Running the demonstration
This demonstration runs on PCs under Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
Note that ILOG Views Component Suite products are compatible with major Windows and
Unix platforms, including Linux. If you would like a Unix or Linux version of this
demo, please e-mail info@ilog.com
Once you have downloaded the ZIP file, extract the sunlight.exe and help.txt files.
Double click on sunlight.exe to launch the demo. See help.txt for help.
Running the demonstration
Each button on the Views Maps interface has a tool tip that appears when you place
the cursor over the button.
To activate the magnifying lens, press Ctrl and click the map.
Uninstalling the demonstration
To remove the demo from your PC, delete the
sunlight.exe and help.txt files.
No files will be left on your hard drive.
