ILOG CPLEX is the de facto standard for mathematical programming—it is relied upon by engineers, scientists, and economists alike. It comes with the fastest, most reliable implementations of the fundamental algorithms for solving demanding mathematical optimization problems.

ILOG CPLEX provides flexible, high-performance optimizers for solving linear programming, mixed integer programming, quadratic programming, quadratically constrained programming and mixed integer quadratically constrained programming problems. It can handle problems with millions of constraints and variables, and it consistently sets performance records for mathematical programming.

TOMLAB /CPLEX

TOMLAB is a general purpose development environment in Matlab® for research, teaching and the practical solutions of optimization problems. The TOMLAB optimization environment is flexible, easy-to-use, robust and reliable for the solution of all types of applied optimization problems. TOMLAB supplies Matlab solver algorithms, as well as well-known state-of-the-art optimization software packages, including ILOG CPLEX.

TOMLAB /CPLEX efficiently integrates the solver package CPLEX with Matlab and TOMLAB. An advanced Matlab interface is included, for the state-of-the-art large-scale mixed-integer linear and quadratic programming solver CPLEX, which also includes simplex and barrier solvers for linear and quadratic programming.
  • Toolbox options: There are several different solver and license options for commercial use:

    • TOMLAB /CPLEX: Solves mixed-integer linear and quadratic programming (MILP,MIQP), and linear and quadratic programming (LP,QP), with simplex or barrier solvers. Quadratic constraints are also supported. A CPLEX license is included. Parallel versions also available for up to 64 CPUs.
    • TOMLAB /CPLEX Intermediate: Solves linear and quadratic programming problems (LP,QP) with simplex or barrier solvers; and solves mixed-integer linear programming problems (MILP). An ILOG CPLEX license is included.
    • TOMLAB /CPLEX Basic: Solves linear programming problems (LP) with primal, dual and network simplex solvers. A special network interface is included. An ILOG CPLEX license is included.
    • TOMLAB /CPLEX MEX: The TOMLAB /CPLEX MEX interface does not come with an ILOG CPLEX license. The solver capacity is dependent on the user's existing CPLEX license.

  • Academic use: The full (and parallel) TOMLAB /CPLEX and the TOMLAB /CPLEX MEX are available for academic use.

MATLAB is a high-level language and interactive environment for performing computationally intensive tasks faster than with traditional programming languages such as C, C++, and Fortran.
