ILOG at CeBIT 2003
BRMS takes center stage
ILOG's Business Rule Management Systems (BRMS) held the spotlight this year at the company's booth at CeBIT 2003 in Hannover, Germany.
ILOG and partners axentiv, IBM, T-Systems and Vodafone Information Systems demonstrated a variety of solutions incorporating BRMS and exemplifying the competitive advantage it can deliver through agility and total rule management. Vodafone's Billit solution, for example, enables utility companies such as Ruhrgas AG to track power usage and more accurately reflect charges in an intricate environment of multiple suppliers and customers with unique requirements. BRMS centralizes and eases the maintenance of the hundreds of business rules governing Ruhrgas' billing processes.
BRMS was also the subject of a joint press conference given by ILOG CEO Pierre Haren and representatives of Vodafone and Intershop Communications. The vast possibilities for BRMS were covered in a presentation given by ILOG and axentiv as well.
"We are very pleased with this year's CeBIT, especially the interest generated by our booth. We can clearly see that BRMS offers solutions to the current needs of different markets."

'Ecosystem' for partners
Alliance Team furthers joint success
ILOG's Alliance Team has assembled resources for the "ecosystem" that enables system integrators (SIs) and ILOG to continue winning through joint ventures.
Led by Desmond DeLandro, ILOG vice president of Strategic Alliances, the Alliance Team covers the globe, with Youns Alaoui in Europe, Joel Gay in Japan, Albert Antoine in Singapore, and Ron Acker in the United States. The team works with others throughout the company, in sales, marketing, customer services and R&D, to make sure ILOG's partners are fully supported.
The team is currently helping SIs ride the wave for Business Rule Management Systems (BRMSs) and leverage this technology to gain access to new markets and opportunities.
"Opportunities are huge with ILOG's BRMS," explains Mr. Alaoui. "ILOG and its partners will transform these opportunities into successful projects. Our objective is to help partners win new projects, bring more value to customers, differentiate their bids, win access to new markets, and benefit from ILOG's market-leading brand."
The ILOG Alliance Team has put in place processes for identifying with partners which markets to target jointly, coordinating activities to develop accounts, launching winning projects, adding ILOG products to partners' competence centers, and backing partners with training, consulting and online support.
ILOG's resources for partners include:
Dedicated Alliance Development Team
Technical Account Managers, offering assistance with bids, product information, and requests for proposals (RFPs)
Joint Business Planning and Execution Program
Technology JumpStart Program
Education program
Partnership program
Joint marketing program
With ILOG, partner SIs are winning big. Competing for business as ILOG partners, Accenture, CGEY, Fujitsu and Logica won projects worth several million dollars each in services last year. By bringing to bear more resources, ILOG is building sustainable partnerships for profitable joint business.
"Our mission is to make sure our partners and ILOG win business together. To do this, the team has put together a comprehensive set of resources that entirely encompasses the sales, development and deployment cycles of leading-edge solutions."
