In “The Forrester Wave: Business Rules Platforms, Q2 2008,” ILOG excels in all its categories. Additionally, it is the sole leader in the category for .NET developers and named “resounding” leader in business rule platforms for Java developers and business analysts.

This year, the annual report looks at 11 top vendors of business rule products, assessing them with 175 criteria in five categories: General Purpose Platforms (broadest feature sets), Specialized Platform Vendors, Business Rules Platforms for Java Developers, Business Rules Platforms for .NET Developers and Business Rules Platforms for Business Analysts.

Leader in General Purpose Platforms
The Wave report names ILOG JRules a leader of General Purpose Platforms based on the product’s broad offering of developer and business analyst tools, rule life-cycle management, and deployment, administration and management features. ILOG JRules is also identified as a leader for Business Rules Platforms for Java Developers and Business Rules Platforms for Business Analysts, receiving the highest strategy score in the Java Developers evaluation.

ILOG Rules for .NET is the sole leader named for Business Rules Platforms for .NET Developers. The report also states that ILOG has “strong support among systems integrators” and “the largest following of independent software vendors (ISVs).”

“With an installed base of 984 customers and 4,542 licenses sold, ILOG has the most market penetration of any of the vendors evaluated,” states the report. “ILOG offers both JRules and Rules for .NET, and has a strong and comprehensive road map.”

Based on Forrester’s research, ILOG has more than twice the number of customers of any other business rule management system (BRMS) vendor listed in the report.

The Forrester Wave report is very reassuring for all of us. We’ve invested a lot in our BRMS products, and our decisions have been based on market demand.

Our release of ILOG JRules Trial as a download from our website has generated considerable interest in our rule products, and their growing adoption in insurance, lending and finance, among other key industries, is based on their reputation of proven reliability and imparting real agility.

This is why we’ve released ILOG Rules for .NET Trial, an introductory version of the leader of the Wave report’s Business Rules Platform for .NET Developers. Downloadable from our website, it has the same support offered by our other product forums to help developers try it out under real business conditions before committing it to full deployment. You can download the new ILOG Rules for .NET Trial from our website at www.ilog.com/brms/rfdntrial.

Supported through a partnership with Microsoft, ILOG Rules for .NET is the complete decisioning system for the Microsoft .NET platform.
