User events

Visualization conferences
Following the success of DIALOG 08 in the United States, ILOG hit the road to hold three ILOG Visualization User Meetings (VUME) in Europe.

The events took place in France, Germany and Spain, and brought attendees up to speed on ILOG’s latest visualization technologies. Specific attention was given to ILOG’s Java™, C++, .NET and Flex products. Demos featured the latest releases, and ILOG product people were at the ready to answer questions.

Among the participants were representatives from Microsoft and Adobe, who covered rich Internet application (RIA) development systems Silverlight and Flex, respectively. Talks also focused on AJAX and graph layout technologies, and customer case studies were showcased.

“The takeaway from our VUME events was significant,” says Patrick Mégard, director of ILOG visualization product marketing. “We introduced new product releases, and attendees and other participants shared insights and experiences.”

Optimization workshops
Recent ILOG optimization workshops in Canada and the United States placed ILOG Optimization Decision Manager (ODM) in the limelight, with ILOG’s optimization team providing product updates, hands-on demos, and tips and tricks for developers.

The events were held in several cities: New York, Boston, Dallas, Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Denver and Toronto. Attendees were able to build state-of-the-art decision-support applications for solving complex problems ranging from real-time scheduling to long-term strategic planning.

They also obtained a better understanding of the ILOG OPL-CPLEX-ODM Development System, its ease of use and how it can benefit their application development.
